Dalton Gang Press has a great proofreader, Helen Austen. 

Unfortunately we don’t have enough work to keep her busy so we’d like to offer her services to other independent and self-published authors who feel their work could use a second pair of eyes.

We understand that most writers don’t have buckets of cash laying around so we’ve tried to keep the prices as low and fair as possible:

Rates:

$4.00 per 1,000 words up to 25,000. (MIN $20.00)

$3.50 per 1,000 words for 25,001 - 80,000. (MIN $100.00)

$3.00 per 1,000 words over 80,001 (MIN $280.00)

What the author gets:

Miss Austen will do 2 passes. The 1st pass will check spelling, grammar and some editorial suggestions. The 2nd pass will be after the author has made the suggested changes to find any additional errors resulting from rewriting.

Turn around time for the first pass is 2-7 days depending upon the length of the manuscript and amount of errors/suggestions found.
